He got the taste of Urdu poetry from my Late father. In his younger years, he developed a strong interest in poetry and started reading extensively. he got highly influenced by the works of Gulzar Sahab initially, and later by Kaifi Azmi, Daagh, Firaz and Jaun Elia.
He started writing when he was in college, but back then it was just scribbling and nothing more. A Couple of years back he started learning the discipline and the grammar of Ghazal writing and now he tries to write correctly following the rules of Urdu poetry.
